Just last week we launched a fundraising campaign to send 3 of our newly qualified teachers to the Kakuma refugee camp. We are thrilled to announce that the entire project has been funded by the SDL Foundation!
This means that the teachers will be travelling to northern Kenya in the next few weeks and will begin teaching straight away. Being qualified to degree level, they will greatly improve the quality of teaching at the camp's secondary schools.
We would like to thank everyone who made a donation to or shared this campaign via social media. All individual donations for this project will now transfer over to the Survivors of War programme where they will enable us to continue our work with South Sudan's refugees.
To see updates from the teachers check our website or social media pages in the coming months.
