sponorship

Alongside fundraising for the Leer project in Sudan, the other important area of work for Gua is academic sponsorship. This is encompassed within our mission statement of working with individuals to help them overcome the effects of war and poverty.

As soon as our founder Emmanuel Jal was in a position to help others through his success with music, he began supporting a number of boys living alongside him in Nairobi who had also survived civil war and the loss of their families. Gua Africa has now taken over these commitments and through your generosity we have been able to expand the sponsorship programme recently so that we now support a group of over thirty young survivors of war.

We are also working in partnership with the Kariobangi School in one of the most deprived areas of Kenya by helping underprivileged children attend primary school. Please click Kariobangi or survivors of war for more details.
